Royal Crest recognized for Class Project Support

On December 11, 2014 the LDC Steering Committee presented Royal Crest Dairy with a plaque for their generous donation of an AED.

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. AEDs are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office had only three vehicles equipped with these life saving devices.  Through the efforts of the Class of 2014, first responders in six patrol cars will now be prepared to assist in potentially life and death situations, until EMS vehicles arrive, especially in some of the more remote areas of Douglas County.
